Fictional cigarette brand • Dark humour, brutal honesty, questionable life choices

About the project

What if cigarettes could talk?

And what if they were actually honest about what they're doing to you?

Rakec is a fictional cigarette brand built around a pretty dark joke. Named after the Slovenian word for cancer (rak), it turns the usual cigarette branding on its head.

I created the concept, branding and packaging around the idea of giving cigarettes a voice. A little sarcastic, slightly uncomfortable and definitely not trying to sell you a healthy lifestyle.

Fun fact

Rakec means cancer in Slovenian. It also happens to be a rather unfortunate consequence of smoking.
